Before you start

Hold one handstick in each hand with the index finger extended, pointing along the handstick.

[Image] The handsticks should be held parallel. When hitting the stick, do so with a lifting vertical motion. There should be almost no horizontal movement of the handsticks. Use the handsticks to lift, rather than swat the D-stick.

[Image] You should be lifiting the D-stick about 4"-6" from the top of the stick. The higher you hit it, the faster it will spin. All hits are above the center line.

Kneeling Start

1.[Image] 2.[Image] 3.[Image]

1. Rest the D-Stick between one handstick and the floor at an angle. Lift the D-stick with the handstick upwards, not inwards.

2. Stop lifting and the stick will rotate around its center. Catch the D-Stick with the oppisite hand stick.

3. Continue lifting the stick back and forth. You should be lifting the stick upward, not swatting the stick inward. This basic move is called the Tick-Tock.

Standing Start

1.[Image] 2.[Image] 3.[Image]

1. From a standing position, hold the D-stick with your thumb. Toss it toward your other hand.

2. Catch the stick with the other hand stick and, with a lifting motion, toss it back.

3. Continue lifting the stick back and forth. You should be lifting the stick upward, not swatting the stick inward. This basic move is called the Tick-Tock.

Two Handed Start

[Image] You can start the Tick-Tock by laying the D-stick across both handsticks and then sliding one handstick out.

The Flip

[Image][Image]

Do a normal Tick-Tock. Then with one handstick lift the D-stick so that it does a complete flip. Multiple flips are possible with practice.

Propeller Spin

1.[Image] 2.[Image] 3.[Image]

1. Start with the normal Tick-Tock.

2. Catch the D-stick just under the center line. Lift the stick with a little more force than you normally do.

3. As the stick spins, bring the handstick around so that you can lift the stick again, just below the center line. With some practice you can spin the D-stick indefinitely on one handstick like a propeller.

One Handed

1.[Image] 2.[Image] 3.[Image]

1. Start with the normal Tick-Tock, lifting higher that normally.

2. As the D-stick spins away from a hand stick, bring that stick under the D-stick and hit it from the other side.

3. Then return the handstick to the other side so that you are D-sticking with just one hand.

Helicopter

1.[Image]2.[Image]3.[Image]4.[Image]5.[Image]

1. From the Tick-Tock, start moving one handstick in towards you as you hit the D-stick. Move the other handstick away from you as it hits the D-stick.

2. This will cause the D-stick to spin as it bounces back and forth.

3. Continue to emphasize this movement making the spin become as flat as possible.

4. When the D-stick is spinning as close to a horizantal plane as possible, take one handstick and hit the D-stick in the middle when the D-stick is perpendicular to your body.

5. Hit it up so that the D-stick only contacts the handstick when it is perpendicular to your body. By doing this you can make the stick spin like a helicopter on one handstick for 8-10 revolutions.
